no network connectivity

Pc not able to pull up a webpage

-verify if the user is using a laptop or desktop
-if user is on laptop make sure it is wireless or network cable
-if it is desktop or laptop connected make sure the network cable is working properly (only network cable)
-lets first ping the network connection

STEPS to Ping to verify connectivity

i-to ping go to start
ii-go to all programs
iii-go to accessories
iiii-go to command prompt
a) type IPconfig /all and press enter

EX:
C:\Users\ITSS>IPCONFIG

(verify that the ip address and the default gateway are in the same sudnet)

b) then ping google

EX:
C:\Users\ITSS>ping google.ca

Pinging google.ca [173.194.38.152] with 32 bytes of data:
Reply from 173.194.38.152: bytes=32 time=249ms TTL=51

-if you see an IP address (ex: 172.16.8.166) that means you are connected
